Michigan students are petitioning to get Kanye West and Jay-Z to play halftime of the Ohio State football game on November 26th.  The duo begin their Watch the Throne tour that night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Also, Columbus, Ohio, and Lansing, Mich., do have major university campuses nearby: Ohio State University and Michigan State University, respectively. We changed the column to state that they do not have elite university campuses nearby

The Wall Street Journal corrections want to make sure everyone knows that OSU and MSU aren’t elite universities.

(Elite for WSJ means top 50 in U.S. News & World Report rankings, in which Michigan is 29th if you were wondering)

BIG TEN RIVALRY – University of Michigan alum Fred Upton appeared to take a shot yesterday at his alma mater’s biggest rival. The new Energy and Commerce chairman was explaining to reporters that he is nicknaming committee rooms after sports stadiums, and will call the committee’s main room “The Big House,” after Michigan’s football stadium.

But here’s where it gets good: He then said that he’s going to call room 2218 “The Shoe” after Ohio State’s stadium “because you can’t really fit much in there.” Some background for those who didn’t go to school with Big Ten fans: OSU’s stadium is the fourth largest in the nation and holds more than 102,000. But The Big House clocks in as No. 1 with nearly 110,000 (something that is of immense pride to Wolverine fans).
